Remembrance

Friday 10th November saw Orchards Year 7 students participate in our annual First World War Day.  Students were taught by their subject teachers who delivered lessons on how their subject was influenced or impacted by the First World War. These lessons were extremely well received and students have learnt a wealth of information about the First World War.

During the week leading up to Remembrance Day, students have been involved in the selling of Poppies and the figure raised will be shared later in the year once confirmed by The Royal British Legion. We have also held a poppy design competition with students being invited to design their own poppy or poppy motif and winning designs will be chosen by our Senior Leadership Team and the History department.

A minutes silence was also observed by the whole school at 11am on Friday 10th November.
