Year 7 Parent Event - Keeping your children safe online and social media
On Thursday 23rd November 2023, our Safeguarding Team held a Year 7 parent and student event about keeping children safe online and on social media. Information was provided around understanding social media and what children can access online as well as ways to manage parental controls and boundaries.
Parents shared that this was a really informative event and they all learned something new. They were surprised at the legal ages for social media and certain Apps, and enjoyed discussions around this. Parents all said that the event made them more inclined to check their own online safety settings and help their young people to ensure they are safe online.
