Geography

The Geography curriculum supports our school in enabling students to discover the world around them, inspiring curiosity about the ever changing local, national and global elements of both physical and human geography.  Students will develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to allow them to have a wider appreciation of geographical issues that directly impact on their own lives in the present and future.  Our broad range of topics gives students opportunities to consolidate  their previous knowledge in skills in a classroom setting, as well as through enrichment opportunities and fieldwork investigations on a local and regional level.

The fieldwork investigations and enrichment opportunities give our geographers a cross-curricular experience that explores the opportunities that careers in geography can offer.  Interviews with local businesses and nationally recognised establishments give students an insight into how geography opens doorways to a multitude of careers.

To reflect the ever-evolving world we live in, our ambitious spiralised curriculum model reflects this and students embark upon a learning journey that allows for flexibility and the systematic reapplication of skills and understanding to their studies.
