Year 7 Number Day
It was lovely to see year 7 participating in Number Day today, getting involved with all the lunchtime activities and competitions. The level of enthusiasm shown by the students throughout their lessons today and during lunchtime has been fantastic. In their lessons they have seen how numeracy fits into Drama, Art, History, English and Maths. Some of the areas that the students have looked at are how we use sequences, probability and estimating in everyday life.
Students were also given the opportunity to look at different career choices and see how each of these incorporate numeracy. We will announce the winners of the lunchtime competitions next week.
Thank you to all the staff at Orchards Academy for their involvement and participation throughout the day, making this opportunity for the students to celebrate numeracy across the curriculum.
