Year 7 Art Enrichment

Y7 pupils took part in an Art enrichment afternoon as an opportunity to undertake more immersive learning linked the Art curriculum alongside opportunities to develop personal skills and try something new.

They studied the visual language of Andy Goldsworthy, creating sculptures out of natural forms such as leaves and branches they had foraged in the school grounds.

Jackson Pollock inspired a large-scale painting. Pupils splashed and flicked paint onto large sheets of paper.

Pupils then became human Spirograph’s and took part in performance art in response to Tony Orrico.

Throughout the day Y7 pupils demonstrated critical understanding of the artists’ visual language and took part with enthusiasm. It was great to see the pupils complimenting, guiding and working together with one another.
