Horizon Primary Academy Science Session

As part of our commitment to the wider community, our Science department held an interactive session for the year 6 students of Horizon Primary Academy.

This session included an introduction to a laboratory setting where the students were able to indulge in using new equipment to conduct a series of exciting investigations! Students were able to explore the chemicals that are used to produce the colourings in fireworks by putting them into the flame of a Bunsen burner and observing the array of colours. They were also able to create their own microscope slides, chromatograms, and crushing cans as part of the session!

The students of Horizon Primary Academy did an excellent job on their first time in the lab – well done!
