CBRE All Schools programme

Orchards Academy student Melvie King took part in the CBRE All Schools unveil ceremony on Saturday 9th March.

This took place on the Twickenham pitch before England played Italy in their RBS 6 Nations match in front of 80,000 Rugby fans.

The Orchards shirt was individually designed by  Melvie and two other pupils at the Canterbury kit design workshop, where they learned about the core values of rugby and the pride associated with the shirt. In addition to this Mr Halsey was also selected to carry the All School Giant shirt onto the pitch during the opening ceremony.

It was an incredible day for all those involved.

The CBRE All Schools programme, launched in 2012 by the Rugby Football Union, has now established rugby in an additional 500 state secondary schools.
