Safeguarding Parents Focus Group

Orchards Academy is very proud of its relationships with parents/ carers and the community and our joint commitment to keeping children safe.

Each year Orchards Academy reviews its safeguarding policy and practice. We would like to have parents’ views on not only our Safeguarding Policy and how it is implemented but what further information and guidance we can provide for parents.

In order to do this we would like to set up a parent focus group that could discuss the policies in school and consider what information advice and guidance we could make available to parents via our website, emails and leaflets/letters.

If you would like to be part of this focus group, which will be held between 9:30am and 11:00am on Tuesday 14th May, then please telephone the school reception to let us know that you would like to participate.

Topics that we will discuss will include:

Keeping your child safe on line.

Resources, advice and guidance for addressing mental health concerns.

School safeguarding - what we cover in the curriculum and our policies.

Help and advice for parents - numbers for accessing safeguarding help outside of school.

How we can help parents and families with support and training.
