World PI Day
Orchards Academy celebrated World Pi Day on 14th March by encouraging year 7 and 8 students to get involved in a range of activities within the Maths department.
It was a day full of fun activities where students moved around in class measuring different sized circular objects to find the value of Pi.
From measuring the circumference of a circle with a piece of string, finding the most keywords in a word search, working in pairs to complete team related tasks and even seeing if they could decipher the dingbats that were scattered along the Maths corridor.
The day was a huge success for students where they experienced Maths in a different and fun way.
