Results of SEN Questionnaire January 2016

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to those who answered the SEN questionnaire. We were really pleased with how many of you were very happy with the provision that we provide for your son/ daughter (87%). Everybody who raised an issue on the back of the questionnaire has had a call from the SEN department to talk about your concerns and additional strategies to address those concerns have been put in place for all who responded.

From the questionnaire it was highlighted that you would like more specific material to help support your child at home.

As a school we are now preparing a parent booklet that outlines what your child is studying for both KS3 and KS4 and how you can support them at home, this will be available next term. We are also placing a document on the website in the SEN area that shows how your child is supported by the school in class.

Many parents are now making use of the SEN coffee mornings which we are holding regularly throughout the year to speak to staff and take advantage of the professionals that attend. If you have any concerns about your child’s progress you can always bring your child’s report to these sessions to discuss any concerns. Similarly if there is an area that you would like professional advice on and which we have not yet covered please let us know and we shall do our best to provide the information requested.

Dates for the SEN coffee mornings are on the website and are held once a term. If you have any concerns about your son/ daughter’s SEN support please feel free to email me on
