Well Done to the U13 cricket team who played NTC on 12.07.18.

Batting first the boys managed to score 69/8, the boys batted well throughout however NTC managed to score 109/2 and ran out winners on the day. The boys played really well and represented the school with an excellent attitude throughout.

Football- Year 10

The year 10's travelled to an elite venue in Gravesend, home of Punjab F.C., for their North Kent District Cup Final Vs Northfleet Technology College.
The game was played on a fantastic ground with a perfect pitch and despite missing a few players we were able to field a strong squad.
The second half began with one of our students making a worldly pass to set up a goal to make it 3-0 Orchards.
We then had to overcome some serious pressure from the opposition who were throwing everything at us to score a goal which they did through a good solo effort to make it 3-1.
5 minutes from time Orchards struck again to make the final score 4-1.
Fantastic effort from all the year 10's with some expert tactics from Mr Wheeler

Sports Tour 2018 to Barcelona

Over half term, the PE department & 25 students from years 8, 9, 10 went on a sport tour trip to Barcelona. We flew from Gatwick on Monday morning landing in Barcelona City in the afternoon where we transferred to Playa Park 4* Hotel in Salou for a 4 night stay.

On Tuesday the students enjoyed the day at Port Aventura Theme Park in Salou on all the rides, shows and attractions. In the evening we took our coach to Salou FC, a local Spanish side, where we had two fixtures to complete in front of a large crowd of parents and supporters. We came away with 1 win and 1 loss from the games with the older boys winning 5-0 with some amazing team goals being scored. Salou FC presented two Man of the Match awards going respectively to Max Lesson and Josh Wigmore.

Wednesday morning all students travelled to a state of the art sports complex in Salou for their first training session with professional coaches. In the afternoon we walked down the beach and spent the rest of the day playing games in the sun and sea until dinner in the evening,

Thursday saw our busiest day of the tour where we had a training session with coaches in the morning then the Masterclass Tournament in the afternoon. Both teams played extremely well with the U15 sides not losing a game nor conceding a goal in the whole tournament. There were some moments of individual brilliance from Blake Birmingham & Max Carey who linked up for goal of the tournament in the U15 games and only what can be described as an world class pass from Brendan Foster to Morgan Wallis to score their finest goal in the U14 Tournament.

In the evening the students enjoyed watching the football in the champion’s league and the Masterclass Disco which gave them an opportunity to mix with the other students in the hotel.

Friday saw our last day on tour and again it was a busy one. We checked out of the hotel in the morning and transferred back to Barcelona City for a self-guided all access tour of the Nou Camp Stadium and its 100,000 fan capacity. We spent the afternoon sightseeing in the city and enjoying the sunshine before our transfer to the airport and flight home.

The Sports Tour was a huge success and every student was impeccably behaved. It was pleasing to see the students enjoying themselves so much in an environment outside of school and create memories that they can keep forever. The students can’t wait for the next tour to come along already.
